Serge Ferrus, General Manager and investor of Tim-Bar, describes his involvement in HPCD, saying, “My goal is to pass along some of the knowledge that I’ve acquired in other areas of experience, both here and overseas. It’s a good combination of experiences in the United States and here in Haiti to be able to help. The final objective is to create jobs.” After studying at the City University of New York, he worked as a Chemical Engineer of General Electric in Albany, New York and Gainsville, Florida. In 1982, he returned to Port-au-Prince to work with Tim-Bar, the largest corrugated box manufacturer of Haiti. Serge is also the owner of Don Camillo, a Haitian business dating back to his grandparents, which provide high-quality beverages including rum, liquors, and wines within the local market. Georgette Jean-Louis, CEO of JLBA Conseils consulting firm, holds two decades of experience in the local and international financial institutions within Haiti. After completing a Business Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Illinois, Georgette served as an auditor within the KPMG International Accounting Firm, then as lead consultant to the Central Bank of Haiti, where she participated in the reorganization of financial regulations of Haiti and oversaw all regulations—in particular, new regulations based on international standards—in conjunction with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She has also served as Operational Manager and Director of the Banking Supervision Department of Haiti. In 2004, Georgette opened JLBA Conseils consulting firm with three partners and a pool of professional consultants. Georgette has three children: Paul, 16; Rafiel, 11; and Isabelle, 7.
